Trent Valley Kart Club Secretary / International
Clerk of the Course
During the early part of 2006 Trent Valley Kart Club
based at the 'state of the art' PFi Kart Circuit
decided to upgrade their timing system. The
Supersport Timing system was chosen because of its
simplistic operation and additional 'bolt on'
features. As you will understand moving from a
tried and tested system to something new after 10
years was of great concern to the club who have in
excess of 800 members and regularly have entries in
excess of 200. The UK's Number One club could not
afford to make any mistakes. It was at this time
that we were introduced to Ian Rogers, who was
recommended by Supersport. Again working with a new
system and a new colleague was something the club
were nervous about! We had no need to be.....Ian
from day one was fully up to speed with the system
and links we needed at the club/circuit. The first
few months were of concern but Ian was unmoved by
the various teething problems we experienced, he was
also very calm under pressure and many issues he
solved instantly and offered solutions to others. We
are now heading towards our new season and the club
is very confident that the new timing system we have
linked to our regular timekeeper Ian Rogers will
provide a smooth and successful 2007 - be that at
Club Meetings, National Championship Rounds or
International events. Ian has proved to be a very
valuable member of the team at TVKC, he is very
competent at his Timekeeping Duties, performs in a
calm and methodical way (even under pressure). He
has an excellent knowledge and understanding for the
role he carries out at our race meetings, and also
contributes to general issues relating to race
meetings and club activities.
